One of the patients who is quoted on the Shivolink page told me the project is "probably fake." If that person is supposed to be one of the 5 patients posting for the project, shouldn't that person know about this project?

I was in aww of Grok bot within a day of it being released.
I use it daily. It is phenomenal. I'm getting more work done per unit time than ever before. But what I've come to realize is how few people have actually used it!
After using n8n, OpenClaw, Hermes Agent, and nearly every model from all the largest AI companies, I can assure you Grok bot is the best AI product ever released.
It abstracts away so many steps that previously required input from the user.
All these AI advancements just abstract away steps between: raw brain signals -> final desired outcome.
In the long-term, it'll be Neuralink connected directly to Grok v10.
For now, try out Grok bot. You won't regret it.
