The Cambridge story will keep bouncing back. The latest development is that the man who exposed it has been suspended by a Belgian university.
The interesting twist is that the rector who made that decision is a politician who herself used GPT-hallucinated quotes in her inaugural speech at the university.
I checked, and this isn’t even disputed. It’s acknowledged on the university’s website where you can find the speech.
