Two LaGuardia air traffic controllers reportedly left work early on the night an Air Canada Express flight collided with an airport fire truck in March, killing both pilots and injuring dozens of people. According to a source familiar with the investigation, the controllers’ departures were significant enough that the FAA is considering disciplinary action. Both are currently on leave and are not controlling air traffic. The NTSB is still investigating the crash, and its final report and determination of probable cause are not expected for roughly another six months.
