I searched until a guard found her. "Mummy, everybody was shouting. I couldn't hear you." People gathered around her. One person complained she was causing a scene. I pulled her close and told everyone to give us space. She wasn't scared because she couldn't find me. She was scared because she thought her fear was annoying everyone. Children may forget details, but they remember who made them feel safe.
