Is this the perfect setup for the next major Base Szn? This week we saw the first real breather in the uponly bull market we’ve been enjoying over the past month, where Robin Hood primarily dominated the new meta of stock-paired memecoins.  And @base was slower to get to market, but now has a good list of stocks available onchain, and unlike the comparable products on RH and Solana, @coinbase issued stocks are actually true 1:1 equity ownership with attributable voting rights and even rebased onchain dividends.  This is the moment for Base to step into the short-term vaccuum and highlight the projects and teams that are experimenting at the forefront of onchain stocks imo. We have stock-paired memes that are driving incredible amounts of volume to stocks pairs, like $BLUECHIP for NVDAc (which did over 30% of that pair’s volume one day last week), and $IPOD (the leading AAPL pair on Base and the first to do stock token reflections to holders.)  We have innovative launchpads like @o1_exchange, @feeldotcash and @iStonksbase who are doing everything in their power to drive new creator energy and volume into these pairs in novel ways, as well as defi protocols like @aeroxyz, @avantisfi and AAVE working to make onchain equities every bit as composable as crypto-native currencies.  Coinbase has a unique opportunity to catch up and maybe even win the onchain stock meta because of the inherent legitimacy of their cb-issued equity tokens, but they need to lean in to the current winners and help them succeed, and they need to do it now. This will also Trailblaze a path for future experimenters who will be more willing to take big bets on Base if they’ve witnessed others win. This attached chart from @kyle’s live dashboard site tells you everything you need to know about how it’s going so far; the top stock pair on Base right now is sitting below 20M, while AI on RH continues to hit new highs and MARSCOIN on BNB surges too. Close that gap, and the many others like it, and liquidity will flow back to Base in an instant because there’s just no marketing quite like “price go up.” My chips are in, and I’m manifesting Base Szn.
