Home Office(@ukhomeoffice):By December 2027, every police force in England and Wales is to have its own specialist rape and sexual offence team to protect women and girls from violence and abuse. We've brought this forward by 18 months because the scale of violence against women and girls demands urgency. Alongside this, £13.3 million of new funding will support specialist Protection Order Teams to test ways to strengthen the enforcement of protection orders to protect victims, improve offender management and prevent further harm. We're also expanding intensive perpetrator management to tackle the root causes of abuse, prevent reoffending and help break the cycle of violence.
