Tatiana Navka, wife of Putin’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov, has sued the EU to lift sanctions imposed on her in 2022 and is demanding over €2 million in compensation. Navka claims the sanctions were improperly justified and that the EU failed to prove a sufficient link to the war in Ukraine. She was targeted due to her family connection to Peskov and ownership of assets in occupied Crimea. Navka is demanding reimbursement of €134,600 in legal expenses, as well as at least €1.9 million in compensation for reputational and moral damage. In addition, she is asking for an extra €1,000 for each day until a court ruling is issued, plus interest on this amount. Earlier, it became known that Ekaterina Ignatova, wife of Sergey Chemezov, head of the state defense-industrial corporation Rostec, is also trying to overturn EU sanctions against her through the same legal route.
