AWS, COGNITION SIGN MULTI-YEAR DEVIN DEAL AWS and Cognition are teaming up to push Devin deeper into enterprise software modernization, targeting one of the biggest bottlenecks in large companies: old code, security backlogs and migration work. Devin will be used to analyze legacy systems, write replacement code, test migrations and run multiple engineering tasks in parallel inside AWS environments. The interesting part is the productivity claim. Mercedes-Benz used Devin to analyze more than 200,000 lines of COBOL, cutting an estimated 8-month modernization project to 8 days. Another automaker used Devin to move a 25,000-line COBOL workflow to AWS Lambda, with an estimated 73% cost reduction. Devin can also run in single-tenant AWS environments with dedicated VPCs, regional controls and audit logs, which makes the product easier to deploy inside large enterprises with strict security requirements. This looks like AWS moving beyond simply hosting AI models and starting to integrate autonomous coding agents directly into enterprise migration and infrastructure workflows.
