AT&T & CORNING SIGN $3B+ FIBER SUPPLY DEAL
AT&T $T and Corning $GLW have signed a multi-year agreement worth more than $3 billion, with Corning supplying fiber and cable for AT&T’s U.S. network expansion.
The deal supports AT&T’s goal of reaching 60 million Americans with fiber by the end of 2030.
AT&T says the average Fiber household now uses more than 1 TB of data per month, about 5x 2016 levels, and expects that to reach 2 to 2.5 TB by 2030 as streaming, cloud services and AI drive higher data usage.
Corning will supply the fiber through its U.S. manufacturing operations, including facilities in North Carolina.
AT&T also reiterated its existing financial outlook, which already includes the impact of the agreement.
