Zak(@zakfilm):The Samurai and the Prisoner is an epic triumph as Kiyoshi Kurosawa creates a Japanese parable mystery in 16th century Japan that feels like it was filmed during decades ago to its compliments. A tale of trust and betrayal at its core that is beautifully illustrated and commanded by a strong ensemble, this has to be one of the best films this year.
