i think we should give up the charade of upholding democracy. both sides want democracy only when they are not in power and fascism when they ARE in power. One should just accept and normalize this thought. I don't think and politician or celeb here can prove their credentials on issue of free speech. Literally everyone would justify action when it suits their side and will oppose it when it doesn't. In any mature democracy free speech up to certain extent is protected by law, not sure when we will reach that level of maturity.
