Tesla has opened its first full-scale public Megacharger station for the Semi in Bloomington, California
The site features six charging stalls, each capable of delivering up to 1.2 megawatts of peak power, and is open to Tesla Semi customers
It is a major upgrade from the earlier nearby public site, which had only two stalls limited to 750 kW
The new station is designed to support higher-volume commercial trucking operations as Tesla Semi production and fleet deployments scale
Tesla has also added 64 more Megacharger locations to its map as coming soon, forming the beginnings of a high-power charging network across major U.S. freight corridors
Electric trucks cannot scale through vehicles alone
They need reliable, megawatt-level charging infrastructure positioned along the routes where freight actually moves
This is another major step toward making electric trucking operationally viable at scale
