Sepreth(@acidxhost):CD Projekt joint CEO Michał Nowakowski says the Cyberpunk 2077 movie with Paramount will not be a direct adaptation of the game. He told PAP Biznes the studio wants a story in the Cyberpunk world, not a one-to-one translation of the game’s plot. The prior deal with Anonymous Content expired, so CD Projekt is now working with Paramount under a new approach. This follows the same path the company took with Edgerunners, which used Night City for an original story instead of retelling the game. Ruling out a straight adaptation early gives the studio room to expand the universe rather than recreate V’s story on screen.
