#秋天的回响# China’s Jiangxi gains another world-class heritage site. On Oct 14 (Beijing Time), the 77th ICID Executive Council in Marseille, France announced the 2026 World Heritage Irrigation Structures List. All four Chinese nominated projects made the list, including Huangsha Canal of Shangrao, Jiangxi. Built in the Tang Dynasty, Huangsha Canal has a 1,000-year history. The 8.86-km canal has 1 main channel, 24 weirs, 35 branch canals and 45 ponds. Its "long vines bearing melons" self-flowing system still irrigates over 10,000 mu of farmland and serves 22,000 locals. China’s gross domestic product (GDP) for the first three quarters stood at 10,710.71 billion yuan. Calculated at constant prices, it rose by 4.6% year-on-year. By quarter, GDP grew 5.0% year-on-year in Q1, 4.3% in Q2 and 4.5% in Q3. On October 9, descendants of World War II American airmen once again came to Jiangxi, China, to trace their fathers’ memories. On April 18, 1942, the US military launched the Doolittle Raid to strike Tokyo, Japan. The crews of Aircraft No.13 and No.14 were forced to bail out over Shangrao airspace.
