37 airlines have now either installed or committed to installing SpaceX's @Starlink on their fleet: • Southwest Airlines • United Airlines • British Airways • Singapore Airlines • Emirates • Qatar Airlines • Air France • Hawaiian Airlines • Alaska Airlines • Virgin Atlantic • Lufthansa • Korean air • Air Baltic • Air Canada • Aer Lingus • Air Busan • Air Dolomiti • Air New Zealand • flydubai • Air Seoul • Asiana Airlines • Austrian Airlines • SWISS Air • Scandinavian Airlines • Gulf Air • Iberia • Discover Airlines • ITA Airways • Vueling • Brussels Airlines • Jin Air • LEVEL • WestJet • Edelweiss Air • JSX • ZipAir • Eurowings Pressure will continue to mount for the airlines that don't adopt Starlink, as they'll lose customers to airlines that have adopted it. I already have friends that actively seek out flights with Starlink because the speed is such a game-changer. As of a couple months ago, over 2,500 airplanes already have Starlink installed, according to SpaceX (includes private planes, business jets and commercial aircraft). That number is likely a decent bit higher now.

Weekly Travel Update DULLES AIRPORT EXPANSION $UAL Washington Dulles International Airport unveiled a $20+ billion modernization plan, featuring over 5 million square feet of new and renovated facilities, expanded AeroTrain service, and new concourses. The decade-long project strengthens United Airlines' hub, increases gate capacity, and aims to enhance international travel while supporting long-term regional economic growth. B&P TUNNEL PROJECT ADVANCES Amtrak announced major construction progress on its B&P Tunnel Replacement Program, including tunnel boring machine production and key infrastructure work, while identifying design optimizations to reduce costs and improve efficiency. The project, targeted for completion in 2036, will replace the 153-year-old rail bottleneck, improving safety, reliability, and capacity along the Northeast Corridor. TAP PRIVATIZATION BIDS Lufthansa and Air France-KLM submitted binding offers for a minority stake of up to 49.9% in Portugal's state-owned TAP, advancing the airline's privatization process. The acquisition would strengthen each carrier's transatlantic network, particularly to Brazil, Africa, and North America, with the Portuguese government expected to select a preferred bidder by early September.

STARLINK IS TAKING OVER IN-FLIGHT CONNECTIVITY As of early July 2026, over 40 airlines have partnered with Starlink. Many are already live, and the rollout is accelerating fast. Airlines Already Offering Starlink (Live on Aircraft) • JSX (first commercial airline) • Hawaiian Airlines (full fleet) • airBaltic (full fleet) • ZIPAIR Tokyo (full fleet) • United Airlines (largest deployment — hundreds equipped) • Qatar Airways • Air France • Emirates (rapidly expanding) • Alaska Airlines • WestJet • Virgin Atlantic • SAS Scandinavian Airlines Major Airlines Rolling Out or Announced • Southwest Airlines (first flights starting summer 2026) • American Airlines (500+ aircraft starting 2027) • British Airways, Iberia, Aer Lingus, Vueling (IAG group) • Lufthansa Group (Lufthansa, SWISS, Austrian, Brussels, Eurowings) • Singapore Airlines • Korean Air and subsidiaries (Asiana, Air Busan, Air Seoul) • Air New Zealand • flydubai • Gulf Air • EL AL Plus many others including LEVEL, Jin Air, Aero, Arajet, and more. How this changes the game: Starlink delivers real high-speed internet (often 100–350+ Mbps) from gate to gate. Passengers can now reliably video call, stream, work, and game at 35,000 feet. What used to be one of the worst parts of flying is becoming one of the best. Airlines without Starlink are already at a competitive disadvantage. The gap is widening quickly.
