China#'s first fixed-wing aircraft platform for comprehensive atmospheric environment survey—the "Y-12F Atmospheric Integrated Aerial Survey Aircraft"—recently completed its maiden flight successfully at Harbin Pingfang Airport, according to the Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC) .
The aircraft, based on the Y-12F platform, is designed to meet the needs of highly sensitive three-dimensional detection of multiple pollutants, including atmospheric particulate matter, gaseous pollutants, greenhouse gases, and cloud-water physicochemical properties.
To achieve this, it underwent large-scale integration and modification work involving over 60 mission equipment items, giving it the capability for integrated aerial survey of multi-pollutants, greenhouse gases, and cloud-water detection. The successful development of this aircraft will provide an important vertical detection tool for regional air pollution monitoring in China.
This aircraft is also the only domestically-produced civil aircraft model that has simultaneously obtained type certificates from the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC), the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), and the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). #
