DDR5 memory prices continue to climb in Germany, with average prices now at 419% of their July 2025 levels. According to data from 3DCenter some high-end kits have seen massive increases. One 64GB DDR5-6000 CL28 kit that sold for €208 in July 2025 has climbed to nearly €1,000, including a 22% jump in the last month.

DDR5 MEMORY PRICES UP NEARLY 10X DDR4 is older memory that was being phased out but it's spiking too as $MU, Samsung & SK Hynix shift wafer capacity from conventional memory into HBM for AI chips. The AI cycle is pulling on compute, memory, storage & servers at the same time with pricing power now flowing through the rest of the hardware stack.

Corsair has started using DDR5 memory chips from CXMT in some of its Vengeance RAM kits. These Vengeance DDR5 modules come with 16GB capacity, 6000MT/s speed, and CL36 timings. They run at standard DDR5 voltages between 1.1V and 1.35V. Performance is similar to kits using chips from Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix. The modules also support both AMD EXPO and Intel XMP for easy overclocking. CXMT is growing quickly by offering good-quality memory chips at lower prices. The company is already producing faster DDR5 memory rated up to 8000MT/s. Corsair is one of the first major global brands to use CXMT chips in consumer RAM products sold worldwide. Increased production from CXMT could improve supply and help reduce RAM prices over the next few months.

Corsair has launched its new SHUGO DDR5 RAM series. The biggest surprise isn’t the RGB or anime artwork, it’s that the kit includes fake RAM sticks and costs $599. Chinese memory makers are accelerating DDR5 development and closing the performance gap with global leaders Samsung, SK Hynix, and Micron. Leading firm CXMT has demonstrated DRAM speeds of 8000 MT/s using 16Gb and 24Gb dies and recently showcased DDR5 memory modules for servers, PCs, and workstations. China’s largest DRAM maker CXMT is reportedly charging more than Samsung for comparable 64GB DDR5 server memory. The company has also secured over $10B in long-term deals with ByteDance and Tencent as AI demand tightens supply.

Careful with what you buy, Fake DDR5 RAM is flooding the market, especially in Asia. Real DDR5 memory costs much more due to shortages and high demand. Scammers are making fake sticks that look like the real thing. These fakes copy big brands like Samsung and SK Hynix. Inside, they use plastic dummy chips instead of real working memory chips. Some also have wrong or fake power parts. A common example is 16GB DDR5 laptop RAM sold on Yahoo Japan. Sellers list them as “junk” or untested items with no returns allowed. The price is around $85. If you install them, your computer usually will not start at all, or it may crash and run badly. Here is how to spot them: >Real RAM has sharp, straight edges on the board. Fakes often have rounded edges. >The small power chips look strange or different. >The board feels thinner or looks a lighter color. On desktop RAM, the metal cover can hide the fake chips until you remove it. Always buy from trusted sellers only, I wouldnt risk my whole PC for saving some money

❗️Chinese memory maker CXMT has reportedly just hit a milestone by reaching 90% yield on 17nm-class DDR5. It still can't buy EUV tools. Its dies run far larger than SK hynix's, so better yield doesn't mean cheaper RAM. Chinese DRAM is now inside HP, Asus and Acer laptops in small volumes and in non-US markets only. CXMT sits on the Pentagon's list of firms it says support China's military. The memory shortage is doing what years of US export pressure was meant to prevent: putting CXMT inside Western supply chains.
