Ken Griffin went home on a Friday "fairly depressed" after watching AI agents at Citadel do work that used to take teams of PhDs in finance months to complete. Done in days. His words: "These are not mid-tier white collar jobs. These are extraordinarily high skilled jobs being automated by agentic AI." This is the head of one of the most successful hedge funds in history saying the people he pays seven figures to analyze markets and structure deals are being replaced by software that works in hours instead of months. Not theoretically. In his own office. Right now. The Coatue deck we covered earlier this week called agents "the biggest unlock" in AI. Griffin just confirmed it from the buy side. The shift from copilots to agents is not a future event. It is already happening at the highest levels of finance.

I find this parenthetical remark weird, to say the least. What is so "erroneous" with describing Kate Millett and Andrea Dworkin as "philosophers"? Just because neither of them had a Ph.D. in philosophy?

Thoughts on the "ChatGPT + Codex = ChatGPT Work" app Some background, I've been using our internal Slack bot for the past couple of weeks and I feel convinced that Claude Cowork and ChatGPT Work are the wrong type of product. 1. People will naturally use an agent where they already do work (Slack or Teams), as opposed to building a habit around a new app. 2. The agent is only as good as the tools and data it has access to, and there's quite a bit of friction in setting that up. It's way better for somebody on your team to do that once, as opposed to, every single person having to do that for their desktop agent. 3. The desktop agent has a clear advantage though with computer use. And while that is powerful, most knowledge work is now done in the cloud. So oddly the desktop agent is better for people that mostly do their work on their local machine, ie, developers. On that note, merging Codex and ChatGPT to create ChatGPT Work feels like the wrong move on multiple counts. It dilutes two previously focused products (ChatGPT and Codex) to create one convoluted app, that I don't think is the right form factor to begin with.

Ngl I thought I was just checking another NFT collection... then I went down the rabbit hole a bit. Turns out @DKashtalyan has been creating for over 20 years before touching onchain. Not crypto-native first. Real walls. Real exhibitions. Real art journey. The art feels weird in a good way, surreal creatures, symbolic details, dotwork textures... almost like every piece is trying to tell you something without explaining itself. Lowkey made me stop scrolling for a minute. A lot of collections start from web3 and try becoming art later. This one feels like art entering web3 after spending decades finding its own voice. Airbnb CEO Brian Chesky said in the Q1 2026 earnings call that AI now writes nearly 60% of the new code at the company, about twice as much as other tech companies. They say that AI tools help write code, fix code, and perform other simple tasks, but engineers still review all the work and own the final result. One engineer can now do work that used to require a team of 20 people. Engineering and design managers are also using AI tools like Claude to code again. Airbnb’s AI support bot now solves around 40% of customer problems without human intervention

The Quick desktop app is here, and it’s compelling. Connects to your email, calendar, Slack, local files, and several other apps to flag important communications, retrieve and summarize info, make recommendations, send communications, and create agents that do work you used to have to do yourself. Gets smarter and more personalized the more you use it. Been using it a lot recently and is changing how I work. It’s allowing me to use applications like my inbox more like an archive, and Quick as my personalized, prioritized, productivity hub that can multi-task various needs. Still early days, and a lot more coming, but excited for folks to start using it to make the undifferentiated work so much less complicated.
