Jeff is a Distinguished Technologist at HPE Labs and serves as an OCP Project Lead. While relatively new to formal volunteer leadership within OCP, he has been a longtime advocate for open collaboration and serves as President & SPDM co-chair within DMTF, as well as prior chair experience in InfiniBand and RDMA, bringing extensive industry consortium experience to the community. How long have you been involved with OCP? Jeff has been engaged with OCP for nearly a decade, contributing to hardware management and security, and has served as a Project Lead for the past year. Why do you volunteer your time to OCP? Jeff believes OCP is unmatched in both its industry impact and breadth of participation. He sees OCP as a critical force shaping the future of hardware, firmware, and security across the technology ecosystem. What impact has OCP had on you professionally? Beyond networking, Jeff values the genuine relationships built through OCP. The community provides opportunities to collaborate with industry leaders, customers, and suppliers in a way that accelerates both innovation and learning. What are you most excited about right now? 🌟Volunteer Spotlight: Ross Stenfort, SanDisk What is your role in the OCP Community? Ross is a Distinguished Engineer in SSD Architecture at SanDisk and leads the OCP Ecosystems Development Project. He has been one of the driving forces behind the OCP Storage Project and has played a critical role in numerous storage-related contributions. Ross also founded and continues to lead the OCP Storage Tech Talks virtual event series, now entering its seventh year. How long have you been involved with OCP? Ross has been volunteering with OCP since 2022. Why do you volunteer your time to OCP? Ross believes OCP provides a unique environment for industry collaboration. He values the flexibility of the community and its ability to bring together ideas, technologies, and organizations in ways that other industry forums often cannot. What impact has OCP had on you professionally? For Ross, collaboration leads to better solutions and ultimately better products. OCP provides opportunities to learn from experts across the industry, gain new perspectives, and work collectively on real-world challenges. What are you most excited about right now? Ross is energized by the growing interest in storage technologies. He recently saw more than 900 registrations for an 2026 OCP Storage Tech Talks in May and is excited to see continued momentum across the storage ecosystem. Something people may not know about you? Ross owns a 1927 Model T that his grandfather purchased in the 1950s. Rather than treating it as a showpiece, he enjoys driving and tinkering with it whenever possible.
