Same playbook, decades later: intimidate the teacher, silence the critic, protect the parallel society. Honeyford warned them. They destroyed him for it. And now we live with the consequences. I’ve proposed this thought experiment before: Imagine you suddenly removed all the native white Brits from Britain, leaving only those who are non-native but culturally British. Would Britain be less British as a result? Yes. Then imagine the reverse. All the non-natives disappeared (even the Ian Wrights and Trevor McDonalds) leaving only the natives. Would Britain be less British? Would we suffer? The answer is no. The essential ingredients for Britain (THE BRITISH) would be unaffected. We might miss certain characters, but the life of Britain would continue unaffected and most likely strengthened in the long run.
