LIGHTNING LABS LAUNCHES WAVELENGTH, AN ARK-STYLE BITCOIN PAYMENTS PLATFORM
Lightning Labs has announced Wavelength, a new self-custodial payments toolkit designed to make integrating Bitcoin as simple as calling an API.
The company says developers, AI agents, and “vibe coders” can add Lightning payments to any application without running nodes, managing channels, or sourcing liquidity, enabling instant, high-volume, low-fee Bitcoin transactions where machines can pay machines and humans can pay humans anywhere.
Built on an Ark-like settlement layer, Wavelength becomes the third major Ark implementation to launch, positioning it as Lightning Labs’ answer to Lightning’s “last mile” usability problem.
The platform also supports AI agents through MCP tool calls, allowing autonomous software to pay for APIs, data feeds, and other services using Bitcoin.
Wavelength is available today in alpha on signet and testnet, with mainnet access available by invitation.
