Orders in for the open. Looks like the shorts are going to get squeezed a little after $TSLA not dropping under the 370 line in the sand.
I’m looking to sell 10 400-strike calls in the brokerage, then 3 420s in the rollover IRA and health savings accounts, all for October.

If I didn’t resell those calls at close. $tsla
Outcome 100% of the time = Stock drop and I’m pissed.
When I sell the calls:
Stock goes up and I make 100k+ in underlying gains but upside down a little on the short calls.
Or
Stock stays flat and I’m making money on the calls.

I remember this playbook from the last delay flight. Makes perfect sense.
$tsla is up 3% today, I made money shorting to stock, and I’m pissed off.
:). I need help and I need to go to sleep.
Go look at March 30th low across the board and everything is up 10-40% since. $tsla is up 5% from that time.
How does this always happen with tsla. It’s unreal how it’ll lag the market like this then when market dumps it will run up like 5 % to get more inline.

In July you could have bought $MSFT and $tsla at the same shareprice. MSFT is up 30% to 500 and $tsla is flat since (while being up 25% form july lows).

I just look at $TSLA YTD and really want to throw up. Its really remarkable this damn stock when we expect it to be 600+ and it cant ever maintain over 400.
I mean its doing great, dont get me wrong. I'm making money with it, but its wild how she operates.

Stop placed at 6.95 and filled at 6.965. Not bad. I’ll take that slippage.

I used to naked short the shares on these moves back in the day on margin and have pretty wild swings. I'd do it in blocks from 1,000-20,000 shares at time. You can only image my swings during 2024. 50-400k days, up or down, were the average.
Now I'm married with a boy on the way. I cant risk it as much as now I just have more to lose. The setup has been right and with that sizing I was doing, the past 2 weeks would have been very very profitable.

Lowered from 7.15 to 7.00
Just put in a profit stop on the short 400 calls I have in the IRA. Stop at 7.15. I'll keep trying to lower this until it executes. Sometimes I get bad fills doing this but if it flips back to daily highs, I will not be upset as much.
Worst thing is when they pop it up a little and I get stopped then it continues to dumps. $tsla
