This morning @TheFIREorg filed an amicus brief explaining why the First Amendment prohibits deporting lawfully present noncitizens based on protected speech. The brief covers the Framers’ backlash to the Alien Friends Act, which authorized Pres. Adams to deport “dangerous” aliens
