GATES MOSQUITO NETS WRECKED AFRICA'S FISHERIES

The Gates Foundation, he says, handed out millions of mosquito nets to fight malaria in the Zambezi Valley — a region whose delta is a nursery for the fish that feed millions.
But the locals, who manage malaria their own way, used the fine-mesh nets to fish — scooping up the tiny baby fish that hold the whole population up.
The result, in his telling: a collapsed fishery and new hunger, "all because they were trying to help.
