Security guard was confused after cameras caught a homeless man giving away the only food he had.
In New York, a security guard was reviewing the building cameras when he noticed a homeless man squatting outside in his tent.
At first, it looked like nothing unusual. Then a stray dog walked up. The guard expected the man to shoo it away, but instead, the man broke off a piece of bread and handed it to the dog.
The guard kept watching, stunned, because it was obvious the man was hungry too. He was sitting in the cold, inside his tent, with almost nothing to his name, yet he still made sure a stray dog passing by had something to eat.
Later that day, the guard went outside and asked him why he would give food away when he was clearly struggling himself.
The man looked up and said, “A lot of people think kindness costs something. It doesn’t. God sees what nobody else does.”
The guard said that line stayed with him all day. He had almost nothing to give, but still gave more heart than most people walking past him.
