COVID didn’t just leave people tired.
For many, it broke the body’s ability to stand. POTS is what happens when that standing reflex fails. Blood should stay up at the brain and heart rate should rise only a little. Instead, blood pools in the legs, the heart races, and dizziness, fatigue, palpitations, and brain fog follow.
Before the COVID vaccine, POTS was uncommon — about 0.2% to 1–2% of people. Afterward, a review of 21 studies in 2,196 post-COVID patients estimated that 36.2% met POTS criteria. The studies varied widely, but clinic cohorts keep landing near one in three among highly symptomatic patients.
Why? POTS is a syndrome, not one disease. After COVID, researchers point to autoimmunity, low blood volume, nerve injury, vessel damage, and lingering immune activation. Spike protein is one proposed pieces. Have you experienced this?
