Obsession (2026) isn't really a horror movie about a cursed wish. It's one of the most honest portrayals of modern dating I've seen in a while.
Bear isn't the villain to me. He's just a regular guy who took the shortcut a lot of people secretly wish they could take: skipping rejection and forcing a connection.
The real horror isn't the curse itself. It's watching someone lose every bit of free will and mistake that for love.
Nikki's possession is terrifying because it reflects a fantasy that falls apart the second it becomes real.
That's why I think this movie shows how broken everyone is.
