🔥 Robinhood Chain Is Now Ethereum’s Biggest L2 Contributor .@RobinhoodCrypto is currently paying more fees to Ethereum than any other L2, highlighting how quickly the new chain is becoming economically significant for Ethereum Top L2s by fees paid to Ethereum last 7D: 1⃣ Robinhood Chain: $8.6K 2⃣ Aztec: $6.4K 3⃣ Base: $1.1K 4⃣ World Chain: $653 5⃣ Taiko: $567 6⃣ X Layer: $459 7⃣ Lighter: $368 8⃣ OP: $357 9⃣ Unichain: $329 10 Polygon: $251 Robinhood Chain’s contribution is nearly 8x higher than Base, one of Ethereum’s largest L2s This is an interesting shift. Robinhood isn’t just competing for users and revenue among L2s. Its growing activity is also translating into more fees flowing back to Ethereum If this trend continues, Robinhood Chain could become one of the most important new contributors to Ethereum’s economic activity

The classic L2 vs Ethereum alignment drama is back, and this time Base is right in the middle of it. Layer 2s were sold as a way to scale Ethereum while still supporting it. Users pay fees in ETH. Those fees are supposed to strengthen the main network, create demand for ETH, and keep the whole ecosystem aligned. Base is doing the opposite right now. It generates massive fees in ETH from all the activity on its chain. But instead of holding that ETH or putting it back into the Ethereum ecosystem, those fees are being sold and the money is going into Bitcoin. Meanwhile Base’s parent company keeps its ETH holdings basically flat while stacking more BTC. Base uses Ethereum for security and settlement, takes the value created by ETH users, and converts it into something that doesn’t help Ethereum at all. If a major L2 won’t support $ETH, then the community shouldn’t support that L2 either.
