🇺🇦 Zelenskyy has expressed hope that Ukraine and its European partners will successfully develop the FREYJA anti-ballistic missile defence system:
“May God help the engineers from dozens of countries succeed. We will overcome this technological barrier and develop our own anti-ballistic missile defense system.
It must be quick to produce and cheaper. We will certainly share it with all our European partners and others who need this protection and security.”
The ambition goes beyond developing an interceptor. Protection must also be affordable and produced quickly enough to meet demand. Success would strengthen Ukraine’s defence and give its partners another means of protecting their own populations.
Zelenskyy also said Ukraine had reached “good agreements” with Germany, securing support packages for 2027–2028. That longer-term commitment matters: Moscow must understand that support for Ukraine will endure.
💥 A drone attack has reportedly targeted the Surgut Condensate Stabilisation Plant in Russia’s Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug, approximately 2,500 km from the Ukrainian border.
The facility processes gas condensate and produces several types of fuel, including aviation fuel.
If confirmed, the strike would demonstrate the growing reach of attacks against Russia’s fuel infrastructure, far beyond the immediate war zone.
The extent of any damage and disruption to production remains unclear.
🇩🇰 Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen:
“I fundamentally do not believe that Putin can be trusted.
I also don’t think we should cooperate with Russia.
What are we supposed to cooperate on when they want to take over parts of Europe?
They are waging war against Europe every single day, directly in Ukraine, and through hybrid warfare against the rest of us.
If Russia wanted peace, they could simply stop.
They are the ones attacking. Nobody else is attacking in Europe right now except Russia.”
Frederiksen puts responsibility where it belongs: with the aggressor.
Negotiations must be judged against Russia’s actions. Concessions offered while Moscow continues its attacks give Putin benefits without requiring him to stop.
Europe’s security demands sustained support for Ukraine and pressure on the Kremlin to end its war.
