With summer in full swing, the FBI’s commitment to protecting our communities remains unwavering. Through Operation Summer Heat, agents and analysts across the country continue to focus on the offenders who pose the greatest risks to public safety. Since June 1, our efforts have led to 2,560 arrests and 1,980 drug seizures, including 350 kg of fentanyl and 3,230 kg of cocaine. Out of @FBICleveland our teams worked alongside partner agencies to execute a coordinated takedown of the 627 Gang, resulting in the arrest of 10 subjects and seizure of over 2 dozen firearms. On the other side of the nation, @FBISanFrancisco worked alongside ATF, USMS, DEA, and the Oakland Police Department to target offenders who possessed firearms. This effort resulted in 50 federal indictments and 76 firearms taken off the street. As a whole, your #FBI# will continue to deliver results with your safety in mind. CASE UPDATE from @FBIBoston: Following an #FBI# Boston Violent Crimes Task Force investigation, two brothers from Brockton, MA, Jenel & Justin Flounoury, have admitted to staging a heist at the Energy Credit Union in West Roxbury, MA, where Jenel was employed as a teller. CASE UPDATE from @NewYorkFBI: Turkey-Based Global Director of Sham Charity Arrested and Charged with Conspiring to Provide Material Support to Hamas Mohammad Yousef Hasna was arrested in the United Kingdom and charged with conspiring to provide material support to Hamas, a U.S.-designated foreign terrorist organization (FTO), and related terrorism financing charges. Hasna used his senior role at a purported global humanitarian organization to coordinate directly with Hamas’s senior leadership regarding the delivery and distribution of funds and supplies to Gaza. A 6-month-old from West Lafayette, IN was safely recovered in Louisville, KY last night. #ICYMI# from @FBISacramento: A federal grand jury returned a seven-count indictment against Joseph “Charles” Henrichsen and his son, Phoenix Henrichsen. They are charged with two counts each of kidnapping a federal employee. Charles Henrichsen faces additional charges, including two counts of assaulting a federal employee with a deadly weapon, two counts of brandishing a firearm during a crime of violence, and one count of assault on a federal officer. According to court documents, on July 16, 2026, two U.S. Forest Service employees were conducting routine environmental work near Gumboot Lake Campground when Charles Henrichsen approached them with a semiautomatic rifle. He bound their hands, and with Phoenix’s help, forced them into a remote trailer. The two employees were held there for the next 15 hours. The incident triggered a massive multi-agency response. Officers and agents from across the country converged on the remote Siskiyou County location. After hours of negotiations, FBI crisis negotiators secured the safe release of both victims and the surrender of both suspects. The defendants are in custody pending trial. Read more:

Today, the FBI, alongside @StateDept and international partners, released a joint alert on the threat posed by North Korean IT workers. North Korea continues to rely on a network of skilled IT personnel who use false identities, third-party proxies, and increasingly sophisticated methods to conduct malicious cyber activity and generate revenue in support of its unlawful weapons programs. Investigating and disrupting these schemes remains a top priority for the FBI as we work to protect U.S. companies. So far in 2026 alone, eight individuals have been sentenced to prison for their roles in these schemes. The alert outlines common tactics used and provides guidance for countries, companies, and online platforms to help identify and mitigate this threat. We urge organizations to stay vigilant and review the full alert for recommendations. These threat actors are remotely accessing internet-facing PLCs, changing IPs and passwords, and causing operational disruption, including pressure loss and flooding. CASE UPDATE from @FBIJacksonville: Retired Army Sergeant Sentenced to Federal Prison for Multi-Million Dollar Fraud and Tax Crimes Court documents reflect that between 2018 – 2022, Sidney Marc Wilson, Jr. operated an online scheme falsely promising victims returns on investments into his purported sales affiliate programs. The Operation Make D.C. Safe and Beautiful Task Force is committed to identifying, apprehending, and holding accountable those who pose a threat to public safety in Washington, D.C. More than 3,100 people from 28 agencies, including the #FBI#, along with nearly 4,700 National Guardsmen from 19 states, are conducting enforcement activities in all eight wards in the District, focused on arresting violent criminals, clearing warrants, seizing firearms, and locating missing children. The task force’s summer surge of additional resources continues to ensure those committing crimes are arrested.

Earlier this week, FBI Cleveland Safe Streets Gang Task Force, as part of its national Operation Summer Heat and Operation Spring Cleaning initiatives, together with the Cleveland Division of Police and our federal and state partner agencies, worked collaboratively for months to identify and apprehend ten dangerous criminals and seize over two dozen firearms (at least one as stolen) equipped with auto sears tied to the “627/OBM” gang.
