🔥 It's time for the Burn The incredible installation art is our favorite part, etching the emotional aftertaste of a shared experience. Our camp sponsored 10 projects this year; here's a sample of four: 1) Above & Below: climbing Jack and the Beanstalk, 48 ft. up. "At the playa level is the mysterious home and laboratory of an eccentric inventor and his daughter. From there, a climb upward through a beanstalk leads to gathering spaces in the sky: a leafy open-air salon at the midway point, and at the top, a glowing Victorian cottage 48 feet above the playa." — Sean Orlando 2) Mundara: "envisioned as a monumental figurative sculpture of a woman whose body becomes a bridge — a radiant, fully expressed rainbow arc spanning earth and sky. She embodies the Axis Mundi: the cosmic pillar, the bridge between realms, the living connection between heaven, earth, and humanity.” — Kyle Doodle Block 3) Kaleidoscope: "From an earthly hand emerges hundreds of fused-glass monarchs forming a “kaleidoscope” (the name of a large group of butterflies), flying overhead. Kaleidoscope is a meditation on inheritance and stewardship. This piece uses the Monarch's transgenerational migration, a journey spanning lifetimes sustained by collective instinct rather than individual effort, as a mirror for human legacy." — Cameron Hill 4) Playa Penguins: Just because. "Penguins don't belong in the desert, yet here they stand—glowing, serene, and impossible. This inversion of reality invites participants to step outside the expected and reconnect with a sense of childlike curiosity." — Paula Aranda
