Dr. V. Anantha Nageswaran, Chief Economic Advisor to the Govt of India, addressed the participants of #HDMC_22# at College of Defence Management #CDM_IDS# on the topic “Building Strategic Leverage in the Emerging New World Order". Dr. Nageswaran highlighted that an evolving geopolitical architecture presents both challenges and opportunities for India. He emphasised the need to keep evolving — moving from Import Substitution and Strategic Resilience towards Strategic Indispensability through a Swadeshi First Ecosystem approach, boosting competitiveness, and fostering an entrepreneurial State supported by a development-oriented bureaucracy. On the AI and employment front, he outlined India’s three-part challenge: not losing jobs to AI, creating jobs that use AI, and generating AI-insulated jobs at scale.
