Karthikeyan and Ms Anshupriya Goswami, Deputy General Managers & Members of Faculty, RBI Staff College, Chennai, took participants through four segments — Monetary Policy, Forex Market Management, Internationalisation of the Rupee, and Consumer Security in Digital Banking — delving into how inflation is managed, how interest rates and key policy tools shape the economy, and how India's central bank compares with its global counterparts. He brought out how rival powers now operate in the space between peace and war — using pressure tactics that fall short of open conflict, but still achieve strategic gains. Dr. V. Anantha Nageswaran, Chief Economic Advisor to the Govt of India, addressed the participants of #HDMC_22# at College of Defence Management #CDM_IDS# on the topic “Building Strategic Leverage in the Emerging New World Order". Dr. Nageswaran highlighted that an evolving geopolitical architecture presents both challenges and opportunities for India. He emphasised the need to keep evolving — moving from Import Substitution and Strategic Resilience towards Strategic Indispensability through a Swadeshi First Ecosystem approach, boosting competitiveness, and fostering an entrepreneurial State supported by a development-oriented bureaucracy. On the AI and employment front, he outlined India’s three-part challenge: not losing jobs to AI, creating jobs that use AI, and generating AI-insulated jobs at scale.
