I need some help, I need you to give me some perspective. I’m serious. Please help. It seems like every day the Jew hatred around the world is escalating at unprecedented speeds. I’m sure the algorithms play a significant role in my perception, but I also think that there is a serious escalation. I am not going to lie, it depresses the heck out of me. I am deeply concerned about the future of Jews in the diaspora and the Jewish people in general. I’m trying really hard to come up with some sort of a script in which this doesn’t end tragically. I see Jews being beaten in the streets of Europe, American podcasters embracing some of the most insane conspiracy theories about Jews, a western parliamentarian calling for military action against Israel, synagogues being vandalized and attacked constantly, American politicians calling for camps for Zionists and blaming Jews for all the world’s problems, and Jewish businesses being boycotted, among many other things. The horrible lies about Jews showing up in my feed have become absolutely outrageously ridiculous. And it keeps getting worse. And based on the engagement on those posts, millions of people believe this insanity. I truly don’t want to believe that we’re headed for tragedy, but I simply cannot come up with a script of how this ends well. Please don’t turn this into an argument about whether we are back in Europe in 1935 or not, or whether Israel is any better. I literally am asking you to describe a scenario where this doesn’t end in disaster for the Jewish people. Is it going to get better when Trump is out of office? Is it going to get better when this war ends? I am seriously asking, please tell me how this doesn’t end badly. I’m searching for some hope here. Please describe the scenario to me of how you see this ending, in any other way besides Jewish life becoming impossible across the West. Right now, the only thing that reassures me that things are going to be OK is that we have Hashem in our corner, other than that I’d be absolutely freaking out right now. We’ve seen this exact script before. We’ve seen it over and over and it always ends the same way. Tell me why I should not be scared.

The media is getting more and more desperate by the day. They’re running out of ways to vilify Israel so they write a story like this. A soldier killed a terrorist. He should never have been tried in the first place. So cute how they call him “An attacker”. So creative that they’re able to turn a terrorist into the victim. No wonder mainstream media, led by CNN is becoming increasingly irrelevant by the day.

Just when you didn’t think some DC muckraking “journalist” could fill a column with more manure than the elephant barn at the zoo, along comes “Politicrap” (Politico) with an attempted hit job on an Embassy Jerusalem staffer.  It’s a “swing and a miss” that reminds us all why we hold the media in complete contempt as they display a new low in TDS and justifies @realDonaldTrump for giving the more reckless dishonest “news” outlets the bums rush. In this case the swings resemble a small child wildly flailing at a mosquito while screaming like he’s going to be devoured by a dragon. The “target” of this 5 Alarm Fire is David Milstein, Senior Advisor at the Embassy.  He is a brilliant policy wonk who was assigned to Embassy Jerusalem having served in President Trump’s first term in a similar role and with great distinction.  (I didn’t know him then, and only after he was named to return in a Senior role in this administration.) The “bombshell” report is more like a wet cap gun—somehow speculating that a wedding invitation sent about David’s upcoming wedding is a “NATIONAL SECURITY THREAT!”  Makes the “RUSSIA, RUSSIA, RUSSIA” hoax look real.  What a load!  Those of us who actually know David and appreciate him wanted to know how best to celebrate his upcoming wedding.  We are genuinely excited for him and thrilled that he found enough time away from his obsession with work that he met a beautiful young lady, proposed, was told yes, and has a date set for the occasion. If there is a “scandal!” blame me and his actual friends for wanting some direction on how to honor him (okay, mostly to honor his soon to be bride) with something better than 13 can openers or a blender that they will never use.  I thought it was a great idea for him to “help us help them.”  My God—who but the keyboard coward who penned this drivel to think it’s a “security risk.” Of course there is a roundup of the usual “anonymous” sources who aren’t named because they either don’t exist or don’t have the courage or courtesy to make the scurrilous allegations so they can be held accountable.  The anonymous writer of this fiction and his, hers or its sources are bottom feeders trying to smear an exceptionally decent young man. If there is anyone I’ve worked with presently or over the past 50 years of my adult life which I’ve had absolute confidence in as one with impeccable integrity, it’s David Milstein.  He has NEVER—NEVER—brought up who his stepfather is or that his mother is a respected attorney in her own right.  He has made his own way on sheer hard work and a deep knowledge of Middle East policy issues that no one I’m acquainted with can match.  Yes, he is intense and I sometimes I have to remind him to give me ONE PAGE and not 30 pages and encourage him not to send long cables to the entire State Department because they do have to consider 195 nations and not just the one we’re posted in.  But no one would ever mistake his intensity for a lack of integrity! He is as trustworthy as anyone I’ve ever worked with.  Too bad people who can get a job at “Politi-Smear” would never be able to get a real security clearance as David has.  He earned his by having passed a very strenuous process of background checks.  The writer of this hit piece seems to have only one real qualification for the job, and he probably has had it since he was 5 years old.  He likes to play in the mud! Whoever the so-called “member of the intel community” is (if in fact they actually exist) should be the REAL concern of the State Department.  Leaking out of an intel agency is MORE than a lack of ethical behavior or just being a jerk—it’s an actual CRIME. Adding the canard that Jonathan Pollard visited the embassy is another real warm pile of bovine droppings.  David had nothing to do about the visit or that I approved it.  The purpose of it, which was at Pollard’s request, was to thank me for showing kindness and respect to his late wife during when I met her at a public event.  And contrary to reports that it was a “secret” meeting, there is NOTHING secret about a visit to a US Embassy!  There are cameras EVERYWHERE, a person checks in with an extensive security registry and there are no “secret entrances or exits.” I’m glad Milstein is on our team.  He is of great value to the President’s policy initiatives and to Embassy Jerusalem.  I’m glad he’s getting married to a most delightful young lady.  And my wife and I will be glad to do something that the writer seems to find objectionable—we will try to find some meaningful gift because we are fond of the couple, want them to stay married at least as long as we have (52 1/2 years) and hope our gift is something they need or like.  I speculate that he, she, or it who wrote this pathetic story is jealous because either he, she, or it has never found a person willing to marry them, or perhaps this person lacks any real friends who would be moved to joyfully extend a wedding gift to him, her or it. I've put my name on the ballot and expect the political sewage I've experienced for decades. It really doesn't phase me. But when decent, honorable and hard-working public servants I work with are attacked, I have a responsibility to stand with them. I'm grateful to work with a team of dedicated professionals at Embassy Jerusalem and will not let them be smeared without a fight!

Is that why Israel has sent in millions of tons of aid, which is clearly shown in thousands of photos of obese Gazans pretending to be starving? Go look at photos of Jews in the Holocaust or Israeli hostages upon release if you want to know what starvation looks like. Israel is an apartheid state? Really? Is that why there are two million Arabs living freely in Israel and literal anti-Israel Muslims in Israel’s parliament? Is that why Arabs can be found in every part of Israeli society from entertainment to sports to the judicial system to politics. Israel is a colonizer? Really? Is that why Israel is the size of New Jersey in a sea of Arab and Muslim countries? Is that why Israel has given land including Gaza and offered much more land for peace, a gesture that was always rejected? Because it wants to expand? Israel wants to annihilate its enemies and does not want peace? Really? Is that why Israel accepted The Partition Plan, which gave the Arabs a state alongside Israel from day one, a plan that was rejected outright by the Arabs? Is that why Israel evacuated 10,000 of its civilians and gave Gaza to the Arabs, which they then used to create a terror base run by Hamas? Israel kills Arabs indiscriminately? Really? Is that why people claim Israel dropped 200,000 tons of explosives on Gaza, which, according to them, killed 70,000 people? How do 200,000 tons of bombs not kill millions? How do they not erase Gaza? Unless those are precision bombs meant to minimize civilian death? Israel is an ethno-state and Zionism is racism? Really? Is that true about the 57 Muslim states too? How about the Christian countries? Also racist or only the Jewish state that was established after the Jews were butchered by the millions? America should stop sending aid to Israel? American taxpayers don’t need to pay so much money to Israel? Really? US aid to Israel, $3.8 billion, accounts for 0.054% of America’s federal budget, $7 trillion. And 86% of US aid to Israel has to be spent in America. Now go research how much Israel gives America for that microscopic and insignificant percentage of its foreign aid or read what the US ambassador has to say about this topic. I’ll save you the effort. He says the US is on the receiving end of the US/Israel relationship. Israel is lying about 10/7? Really? Is Hamas also lying about it? Are thousands of Gazans also lying about it? Because they proudly declare that it was their best day and that they’d do it over and over. Israel is killing Christians? Really? Can you name one? A single name of a Christian targeted by Israel? One? “Settlers” in Judea and Samaria (aka the West Bank) are terrorists and are no different than radical Islamists? Really? Please give me a list of 20 names of jewish terrorists and their victims? While you’re at it, find me a single Israeli official who condones violence against Arabs in Judea and Samaria. I’ll wait. There is no such thing as Jewish terror. Sure, there are some teenagers who commit crimes and are condemned by literally every Israeli. Comparing that to hundreds of millions of Islamists who commit terror and are barely condemned by any Muslims is just dishonest. Here’s the real truth. Every single accusation against Israel is an admission of guilt. Literally, take any one of the above allegations and you’ll see how the one guilty of it is Israel’s enemies. Genocide? 10/7 was (attempted) genocide. Apartheid? Jews aren’t allowed to go into any Arab town or city without being lynched. That’s apartheid. Starvation? That’s what Gazans did to Israeli hostages. The pictures are available if you’re interested. Colonialism? Go look at a map of the Middle East and you’ll see who the real colonialists are. See below. It’s not that complicated. Ethnic cleansing? Go look at how many Jews lived in Muslim countries and how many live there now. That’s ethnic cleansing.
