About a month and a half ago, I received a LinkedIn message from a woman named Sarah Guedj that read, “Hi Hillel, I've been seeing what you've been doing to support new olim, and it really resonated with me. I come from a family that made aliyah too, so the idea of helping people feel at home here is very close to my heart. Funny enough, you even interviewed my brother many years ago:) I'm an artist and designer, and I recently created a collection of handmade mezuzah cases. I'm attaching a short video so you can see them. I'd love to gift you 7 of them to give to new olim you're helping, plus one for you of course! No commercial angle at all. Just a small, personal contribution to something I really believe in Let me know what you think, I'd be really happy to make it happen :)” Amazing. Well, I met Sarah a few days ago and she came with eight mezuzot, one for me, and seven for Olim. I’ve already given out most of them and the look on the face of those new immigrants when I give it to them and tell them the story is absolutely priceless.
