for me cameras started out as a hobby and then became a tool. and ive broken every single camera eventually, or worn it out or destroyed the sensor or shattered a lens or had something stolen. i've lost 7 drones to the ocean. i could never sell any of my used camera gear because they all became trophies from the images or videos they produced in my hands (and they are prob worthless in their retirement state). weird connection to broken gear. you should buy things that you use until they break because you use them so much. or else just get rid of the things you don't use because they create mental clutter being around and never being used. reminds me of skis or snowboards, they look good turned into chairs when you retire them from use
