Jacquelyne grew up in Kansas agriculture and carries on that legacy by working with her dad on their fourth‑generation farm and ranch. From managing the operation to fostering connections through her leadership in ag organizations, Jacquelyne is making a significant impact in her community and state. Thank you, Jacquelyne, for your tireless efforts to support Kansas agriculture. #YearoftheWomanFarmer#

From working alongside her dad on their fourth-generation farm and ranch, Leffler Farms, Inc. in Americus, Kansas, to raising cattle and growing corn, soybeans and wheat, Jacquelyn’s roots in agriculture run deep. She bridges the gap between farmers and consumers while serving her community both in the field and as a leader with local, state and national ag organizations. In this #YearoftheWomanFarmer#, we celebrate Jacquelyne and all women who have a role in the industry. As she says: “Throughout history, women have always been in the field and in the barn—and now we are at the table. We are equal partners, owners and doers in the industry. If you ask me to personally speak on behalf of agriculture, I don’t do it as a woman; I do it as a farmer, rancher, wife, mother, daughter and sister. We are so much more than what the world sees.”

This week, our nation observes National Police Week, a time to honor the dedication and sacrifices of the law enforcement officers who protect our communities in Kansas and across the country. We also remember those who have lost their lives in the line of duty. Because of their sacrifices, our communities and state are safer. May God bless our law enforcement officers and keep them safe as they faithfully serve and protect us.

PASSED: My legislation, the Streamlining Rural Housing Act, was included in the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act that was approved by the Senate this week. The bill would support housing in rural communities by simplifying housing programs and reducing unnecessary bureaucratic barriers. I urge the House to pass this bill and send it to the President so we can continue to strengthen rural America and improve access to affordable housing.

Saddened to hear of the passing of Dodge City native Charlie Meade. Known by many in his community as The Marshal, Charlie was a tremendous ambassador of Dodge City history and the western tradition. My prayers are with his family during this difficult time.

It was great to join @Boeing CEO Kelly Ortberg in Wichita today to meet with Boeing Wichita’s talented workforce, community leaders & local aerospace suppliers – including a stop at @MAXaero_ICT. During the visit, Mr. Ortberg announced that Boeing will invest $1 billion in its Wichita facility over the next three years – a testament to Boeing’s commitment to Kansas and the local workforce. Wichita would not be the Air Capital of the World without the engineers, designers and manufacturers who call this city home. I am grateful for Mr. Ortberg accepting my invitation to come to Kansas to strengthen Boeing’s relationships in the community, & I appreciate Boeing’s commitment to increasing its presence in Kansas and continuing to invest in our workforce and state.
