San Francisco just gave final approval to an 820-foot residential skyscraper. Here are the revised plans for 10 South Van Ness: • 67 stories • 921 homes (681 condos + 240 apts) • 70 affordable homes • 352 bike spaces • 105 car parking spaces • 1.59 million total square feet All on a 1.1-acre triangular lot at Market & South Van Ness. The location has a lot of great transit options...Muni is literally next door, Van Ness BRT runs past the site, BART is nearby. At 820 feet, the tower would be nearly as tall as the Transamerica Pyramid. Also this is interesting: the developer donated the land at 1979 Mission Street to the city as part of its affordable housing requirements. That site is now expected to eventually produce another 382 affordable homes, with the first phase already under construction. Now comes the hard part... Actually getting the tower financed and built 😬 📍San Francisco

This is currently a surface parking lot in San Francisco. The proposal for it? A 40-story skyscraper. New plans for a small 0.2 acre parking lot near Civic Center would transform into: • 288 apartments • 38 affordable homes • 433 feet of height • 161 bike spaces • Rooftop terrace + amenities And it's just one block from Civic Center BART. The design by Handel Architects is pretty cool too...floor-to-ceiling glass, sawtooth bay windows, and a slender tower rising above a six-story podium. This is the type of urban infill I'm all for...0.2 acres for parked cars. Potentially housing hundreds of people. 📍 San Francisco
