Supergirl is not the worst movie of the year idk what these idiots are smoking. it’s fun, goofy, and enjoyable. is it a masterpiece? no. but it was good, very good at moments and i enjoyed my time. -spoilers past this point- my criticisms? some really fabulous characters and actors whom i wish to see more of were paced and edited poorly. a lot of the fights? well… what fights? they happened off-screen for the first 2 acts of the film almost. final fights and action sequences were awesome and personally i enjoyed the changes with Supergirl k*lling Krem. i also felt that the argo city sequences should’ve actually been the opening of the movie so we can see the loss of her family and Krpyton to set the tone as to why she’s essentially a fun swashbuckling space pirate dealing with her trauma one bottle at a time. side note - Kara’s mom making a joke about her in-laws sending Clark off of Krypton as it was dying to be a “conquerer of worlds” in a disapproving mocking tone was hilarious. Kara’s parents are very different from superman’s, they don’t tell her to rule the universe, or conquer worlds. infact, Kara’s mom tells her “you don’t need to be nice, just be good” and i think that’s a really beautiful message. as a supergirl fan i feel like Milly is her, she’s Supergirl, she’s literally perfect. now if only we can get a better editor and honestly overall direction for the next film, that’d be out of this world.
