I have been planning to write an article addressing this question To keep it short the two main reasons is that the dynamics of power shifted from local roots to concentration in the federal government and freedom of association has been outlawed The right has its power rooted in the spontaneous quest for liberty-meaning freedom from over reaching authority, independence and sovereignty- and the left has its power rooted in the quest to impose order by a centralized authority to over compensate for the lack of individual capacity to generate order. It used to be 100% legal for Americans to form independent paramilitaries with combat training. This has been outlawed. Meaning that armed citizens cannot organize. States National guards can federalized by the President. Meaning that local territories have no leverage of force while the federal government has the monopoly on that. The FBI, CIA and NSA are designed to track and infiltrate any sort of independent right-wing militia that is smart enough to organize within the boundaries of the law. Right-wingers can still have shooting clubs and target practice but no combat training. The civil rights act, specifically the FAIR Housing Act, has outlawed what was left of local territorial sovereignty after the 14th amendment was enacted. If you can’t decide who moves into a given territory you have no power over that territory. The federal government decides who moves where. The 14th has a very particular line “Representatives shall be apportioned among the several States according to their respective numbers, counting the whole number of persons in each State, excluding Indians not taxed.” that was written to give northern coastal states more representation because new waves of immigrants were located there. The line was followed by this: “But when the right to vote at any election for the choice of electors for President and Vice-President of the United States, Representatives in Congress, the Executive and Judicial officers of a State, or the members of the Legislature thereof, is denied to any of the male inhabitants of such State, being twenty-one years of age, and citizens of the United States, or in any way abridged, except for participation in rebellion, or other crime, the basis of representation therein shall be reduced in the proportion which the number of such male citizens shall bear to the whole number of male citizens twenty-one years of age in such State.” Translation: if Southern states attempted to disenfranchise black males they would lose congressional representation proportionally to the percentage of black males excluded to the total male population. In practice it means that if a state attempts to disenfranchise new comers it will lose congressional representation. The civil rights act has outlawed private freedom of association meaning that companies cannot exclusively hire straight White males or heritage Americans. Leftists (women) are specialized in infiltrating big companies and making it serve them. Court decisions have made bothering women illegal in the workplace. Your company can go bankrupt for making women feel unsafe. In addition to this. Many presidents, owners and founders of private equity, big tech and car manufacturers are evil people. Right-wingers have a sense of justice incompatible with their plans. In addition to to all of this there is the immaturity of many right-wingers in being obtuse bull headed fools with pre determined groups and rules making them unable to work with others for problem solving and making alliances. The right doesn’t control anything because the only way it could have power is through using local sovereignty as leverage but the federal government has successfully outlawed every possible way this could be achieved.
