Robotics deep dive: HOW MANY HUMANOIDS HAVE ACTUALLY BEEN SOLD? The humanoid unit counts I can find inside an audited filing come from two companies, and both are Chinese. UBTech filed its 2025 results with the Hong Kong exchange on 31 March 2026: 1,079 full-size humanoids sold, RMB 820.6m of revenue from that product line, RMB 2,001.0m group revenue, 37.7% group gross margin, the figures agreed by the group's auditor. Unitree's STAR Market prospectus reports 5,215 humanoids sold over the same year. Now the American side, read the same way. Figure AI Inc's entire history with the SEC is a single Form D, dated 13 March 2024. Form D asks the issuer for a revenue range. Figure ticked "Decline to Disclose". Apptronik has filed five of them, the latest on 5 November 2025, and ticked the same box. Both forms report to the dollar how much money came in: $674,981,967 of a $675,000,000 offering for Figure, $331,397,787 of $500,000,000 for Apptronik. Neither reports anything about what was sold. The obvious answer is that those two are private and the Chinese two are listed. Tesla tests that. Its FY2025 10-K names Optimus seven times, carries no unit count and no revenue for it, and reports two segments: automotive, and energy generation and storage. The filing says "We have yet to commercialize Bots." The only humanoid unit figure in the whole document sits in the CEO award schedule: operational milestone 3, "1 million bots delivered." Registration is what pulls numbers out. 1X Technologies AS is Norwegian, and Norway publishes the accounts of every AS: the 2024 filing shows operating revenue of NOK 15,245,853 and a loss of NOK 359,740,386, audited. No robot count, because nothing required one. The reader pays for this when trying to size the sector. Two filings give 6,294 documented units for 2025. Set against Omdia's estimate of 13,318 humanoids shipped worldwide that year, a little under half the market has an audited unit number behind it. The China-share figure everyone quotes moves about ten points depending on which research house published it, and none of them shows the unit list underneath. Every audited humanoid unit count I can find was produced by a Chinese listing requirement.
