To defend Bitcoin, there are obviously people using it as a form of payment through 3rd party processors like Coingate, Bitpay, etc. Same as with Litecoin, but $LTC has greater use history when stacked against the amount of narrative pushed over 14+ years for Bitcoin versus Litecoin. Why is that? It's because Litecoin is what Bitcoin was meant to be but cheaper and faster. That's not a dig, it's a reality. Who wants to spend gold for a coffee when silver is more prevalent but still valuable enough to hold and people will accept because of its value?

Litecoin's daily AEV (Adjusted Economic Value) sent is 3x higher than this time last year and steadily growing. The AEV shows the true amount of Litecoin being sent to an address minus the amount being sent back to the sender as part of the transaction. This is a much more accurate indicator of ledger usage growth and extremely bullish for the overall health of the network!

To best understand the nuances of why one thing is used more than another you must understand what hole they really fill in terms of usage. Like a fine wine, money needs the right type of cork and Litecoin fills that hole perfectly. As for the other cork, we'll leave that up to your imagination.
