๐จ U.S. TO OPEN TWO NEW MILITARY BASES IN GREENLAND
The United States plans to restore the old Narsarsuaq base in southern Greenland and establish another military presence at Mestersvig on the east coast under a new agreement with Denmark and Greenland.
At the height of the Cold War, the U.S. operated 17 installations and stationed more than 10,000 personnel in Greenland. Today, only Pituffik Space Base remains.
The Arctic is becoming a serious military theater again.
