After six long hours at university, I was sitting in my last lecture of the day, Metaheuristics for Optimization. Honestly, the lecture was difficult, and I was starting to feel exhausted and overwhelmed. For a moment, I even felt like I wanted to give up. But when I looked out of the lecture hall window, I saw something I wasn’t expecting… the flag of my country, Palestine 🇵🇸, hanging from the home of someone I don’t even know. It might seem like a small thing, but to me, it wasn’t small at all. In that moment, it felt like I had received a little message telling me: Keep going. Don’t give up. Seeing that flag gave me a new sense of hope and energy to keep going, focus more, and continue moving forward despite the exhaustion and difficulty. Sometimes, hope comes from unexpected places and from people we don’t even know, exactly when we need it most. ❤️🇵🇸
