One thing about Primetime that got me good is that the whipped cream guy is the fucking kid from Jerry Maguire.
Loved a lot about Primetime, but I’m mixed overall. I wish it dug further into how turning these stings into a freak show for TV affected the actual cases, rather than mostly showing the freak show itself. Maybe I expected more than it was trying to do, so that’s on me lol. 👍 up

Disappointed to find Ink just fine. Loved Boyle’s signature stylization, and Jack O’Connell is great, but I just wasn’t that engaged. Also, as expected, the AI usage looks fucking terrible. Kept thinking of The People vs. Larry Flynt, which tackled similar material much better.

Bad Lt: Tokyo: Very mixed on this one. Definitely the weakest of the three Bad Lieutenant films, but still a hell of a good time. It’s Miike sunny-side up. Funny seeing so many walkouts when this is pretty tame work for him. Personally, I’m still scarred from Visitor Q myself.

Elsinore: Guess Focus Features is gonna release a Shakespeare-centered movie somewhat involving a performance of Hamlet every year from now on. If Jessie Buckley’s performance in Hamnet won her the Oscar last year, there’s no way in hell Andrew Scott isn’t doing that this year.

Evil Genius: Besides it definitely needing a better on-set gaffer and a better editing job the thing works well enough when the first introduction to this story was through a movie like 30 Mins or Less of all things. Cox direction is unremarkable but passes. Anyways, I’m wiped.

Your Mother x3: Don’t think I’ve ever seen a movie, let alone a semi-action one, use religion and faith so beautifully in its narrative before. Ali is undeniably one of the best actors of our generation. If his past work hadn’t already proved that, this sure as hell does.
