We're building our strength at home.
We’re moving with speed and ambition to build a stronger, more resilient, more independent Canadian economy.
That’s why we’re working to modernise and expand the Port of Vancouver — unleashing over $100 billion in new annual trade capacity and creating more than 17,000 good jobs.

We’re transforming our economy — and some of the biggest payoffs will take time.
That’s why we’re focused on giving Canadians a boost today and a bridge to a better tomorrow.

We’re investing in our communities.
That means community centres where your kids can play safely on the weekend.
It means more hospitals, so you don’t have to drive two hours when your child is sick.
And it means new transit that reduces traffic and cuts your commute home.
Because building Canada strong starts with building stronger communities.

In 2024, over 100,000 new apprentices registered, but only about 34,000 completed their apprenticeship. Time to change that.
Through Team Canada Strong, we’re providing apprentices with a $400 weekly top-up while they are training, and a $5,000 apprenticeship completion bonus when they get their Red Seal certification — helping more young Canadians get trained and onto job sites faster.

Today, I join Canadians in mourning the loss of the Honourable Todd Lewis, Senator for Saskatchewan.
From his local school board, to the volunteer fire hall, to more than 20 years on Lajord’s municipal council, Senator Lewis served his community at nearly every level. A strong and steadfast voice for rural communities, he led a distinguished career of advocacy for Canadian farmers.
My deepest condolences to Senator Lewis’ family, friends, colleagues, and all those whose lives he touched.

On Emancipation Day, we honour those whose courage helped make our country freer, fairer, and stronger.

Canada unequivocally condemns Russia’s abhorrent strikes on Ukraine last night that killed civilians and left many injured. The strikes were also an unjustifiable incursion into Polish airspace.
Ukraine’s fight is our fight. Canada will work relentlessly with our Allies until a just and lasting peace is secured for Ukraine and Europe.
