SpaceX’s Raptor 3 is the most advanced rocket engine built, featuring key upgrades: nearly double thrust over Raptor 1, 4× cheaper manufacturing to cut launch costs, simplified design saving over 40 tons of mass per Starship, and durability eliminating external heat shields.
It’s scheduled for Starship Version 3, with first flight in early 2026.
