He went from Muslim to atheist. He then wrote a novel inspired by satanic verses incident. Muslims got offended. Ayotullah khomeini put a fatwa and bounty on his head. He then under constant security, his translator and publishers were killed resulting in 50+ deaths. In 2022 more than 30 years later, a Muslim tried to kill him on stage, all because of a book. Ex-Muslims are the bravest people on earth.
