AI has the potential to be an incredible tool for humanity. But as it becomes more powerful, the severe risks it poses could be existential.
That’s why on October 5, all 51 members of the Council will convene for a rare Committee of the Whole hearing on the risks of AI. We’ve invited @OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and @AnthropicAI CEO Dario Amodei to participate, along with other leading experts.
We have a responsibility to make sure the safeguards protecting New Yorkers keep pace with extraordinary speed at which this technology is advancing.
