🚨New: The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office says it arrested illegal immigrant Rolando Sanchez Velasquez, 34, in connection with the abduction and assault that occurred in the area of Algonkian Parkway and Lowes Island Boulevard on the evening of July 15, 2026 in Sterling, Virginia. The sheriff’s office said deputies responded to the area after receiving a report from a woman who was approached and grabbed on a walking trail by the suspect.  The victim courageously fought off her attacker and escaped to call 9-1-1, the sheriff’s office said, adding Rolando Sanchez Velasquez is charged with Abduction and Assault and Battery.   In addition, authorities say he was served with outstanding warrants for Child Neglect and is being held without bond at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center, and an immigration detainer is on file.
